A customer review
“Mr. Motu, the guinea pig, loves the shelf. He sleeps up there, nestled in timothy hay but will not go up the ramp; he uses a large tube or stretches and jumps up. He will use the door, as a ramp, to go in and out of the cage when it is open as he loves to go exploring but returns to use the litter pan. Great size for a single pigger and easy to lift on and off the table for adventuring!” — Becca

NICOLE WARD says:
I BOUGHT THIS CAGE FOR MY 2 NEW PET RATS….LOVED IT UNTIL I WOKE UP THIS MORNING TO FIND THAT THEY HAD CHEWED A HOLE THROUGH THE BASE AND ESCAPED. LUCKILY THEY DIDN’T LEAVE THE TABLE, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO WARN OTHER RAT OWNERS THAT THIS MAY NOT BE THE BEST CAGE FOR A RAT, ALTHOUGH IT SAYS IT IS MADE FOR THEM. SMALL AIR HOLES(?) IN THE BASE WERE A PERFECT STARTING POINT FOR THEM TO NIBBLE THEIR WAY OUT. BUYER BEWARE!!!
Pet Supplies Guide says:
@Nicole : What small air holes?
NICOLE WARD says:
There are small rectangular holes along the top of the plastic base. I don’t know if they are actually air holes, but that is where my rats started chewing.
NICOLE WARD says:
Looking more closely today, I see the “holes” are under the spots where the wire top clips onto the base-not where you attach the clips on the left and right side, but all around the base…most of which have been chewed off now. Nothing against Super Pets. I do love their products, but most rats love to chew and plastic is no match for rat teeth. Just wanted other beginner rat owner’s to learn from my mistake and buy chew-proof homes…instead of throwing $70 (give or take) out of the window.
