“I was a bit skeptical, but because it’s made by Andis I bought the Large size. I like it very much, it fits nicely in my hand, it’s light and easy to use, and very effective in removing the dead/loose undercoat. It’s very much like a Furminator, except that this has batteries that give it a massaging action to calm the dogs. Turning it on doesn’t seem to make much difference in its performance as a de-shedder, but it does create a massage-like feel to calm the dog. It’s close to the price of the furminator so I’d get this one instead. You can choose whether you like the power or not, it has an on/off button. “I have a Yellow Labrador Retriever and an ancient gray cat. Both of them enjoy being brushed with this deshedder. It has reduced the amount of pet hair being picked up by the vacuum cleaner significantly. Beware! The first time you use this, do yourself a favor and do it outdoors, preferably in a vacant field. The volume of hair coming off both my animals was staggering. They both enjoy being groomed so I had been brushing them daily. The first usage produced such a prodigious clouds of fur that I thought a neighbor would call the EPA. It was truly awe inspiring. I don’t know why both pets aren’t bald by now.
