“I have a chow chow who is prone to skin allergies and matting. She has had hot spots and chewed away hair so much we started taking her to the groomers to be shaved down. These clippers had my whole chow chow cut in an hour and a half with her full coat (with several resting breaks for my baby). “We bought these clippers to trim our long haired German Shepherd Dog. She had a very thick under coat. The clippers worked great. I had no previous training using clippers, so I was a bit nervous about accidentally cutting her. That was never a problem at all. The clippers took a bit of practice to get used to, but once I got the feel of it I was confident. I bought a #7 blade and that’s what we used for her heavy coat. I also bought a can of the Andis Cool Care Plus spray. The blade does get hot while clipping, the spray helped to cool it down so we could continue in one session.
